Our food bank will operate on Tuesdays only from 1st February 2026.

    Food Bank use

Should you require support from our food bank regularly. One of our volunteer support workers will contact you and will invite you to meet to discuss how we can provide any additional support or signpost you for further support. This may include referring you to the Citizens Advice Bureau or a similar organisation for support with debt or other issues.

We also have support available at the Miners Lamp, should you be seeking employment, for issues such as job searching, CV writing or IT skills.

Our volunteer support workers are there to support you, but also there to ensure that you receive the help you need to address any issues which are resulting in you needing support from our food bank.

    Miners Lamp Market

Each week we receive both fresh and frozen food at the Miners Lamp. Our weekly market is advertised via facebook with the items we have. It's important that if you receive a food parcel from us, that you can supplement that with items from our market.

Our weekly market can provide you with fresh fruit and vegetables and other food products not available in your food parcel.

Please be aware that we have no control over items that we receive.

You can access items from our Market for FREE within the week that you receive your food parcel.

Outside of that time, you will need to pay for items from our market.

    Delivery of your food parcel

We are NOT a food delivery service. We are there to help support you in your time of need. Please ensure that you make your request as soon as you can, we CAN NOT fulfill requests overnight or at short notice.

Requests received before 5 pm on a Monday will be available and delivered between 12 noon and 2 pm on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Requests received after 5 pm on Monday will be available the following week.

We may call you to confirm delivery. Please ensure you answer your phone and are at home to receive your parcel.

Your food parcel may be left for you; however, in bad weather, your food parcel may be returned to our unit, and you will then need to arrange collection. We CAN NOT redeliver your food parcel.

Help US to Help YOU by assisting our delivery driver by collecting your parcel from their vehicle. Some of our volunteers are elderly or have health conditions, and give up their time to support their community that supports you.
