Schedule your Energy Assessment Logo
  • Schedule your Energy Assessment

Thanks to a partnership between Driftless Area Land Conservancy and Green Homeowners United, 30 propane-heated homes in Iowa County area can receive a reduced cost energy assessment. Homes heated with other fuels can also schedule an energy assessment at the standard rate. Having a home energy assessment will unlock new federal incentives from the Inflation Reduction Act!
  • How our "Energy Assessment" Blitz works:

Green Homeowners United is dedicating a period of time for an energy assessor to visit many homes in Iowa County in a short time! Please choose one of the available time slots below, and once chosen will be locked in for you and will disappear from the availability list (to avoid double-booking!). The assessment should take about 60 minutes in the home, and we are giving us a little travel time between each visit. After gathering the data, we will perform a lot of math, write up a report, and go over it with you via Zoom video at a later date.
  • What incentives are available?

Up to $8,000 off energy improvements shown to help reduce energy use following an energy assessment (depending on income, although everyone is eligible for something) in instant rebates. Up to $3,200 in federal tax credit per year for energy efficiency and/or heat pump upgrades. Up to $14,000 off in rebates for electric upgrades (heat pump, heat pump water heater, induction oven, electric service upgrades, etc.). Possible additional Focus on Energy incentives for those on natural gas or electric heating systems too.
  • Why so far out?

The new Inflation Reduction Act rebates have been delayed and will not be available until early 2024 (possibly late 2023), so even with an energy assessment you can't QUITE access them yet! However, you CAN still receive a federal tax credit now for them, and they can still make you eligible for these forthcoming rebates AND help you figure out what improvements best maximizes these incentives!
