    Project Registration

     

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT - Register before January 24th

    REGISTRATION CLOSES - February 5th
    A separate form must be filled out for each project being registered.

     

    REGISTRATION FEES
    Before January 24th - $25 (EARLYBIRD DISCOUNT!)
    After January 24th (between January 25th and February 5th) - $35

     

     

     

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • You will enter your project as a physical project posterboard, a digital PDF slideshow, or both. (SARSEF and AZSEF only accept digital submissions; if you are planning on participating make your digital project now.)
    • Be sure to have a SRC Form and Human Consent Form if appicable (see Required Forms here)  
    • Students must either bring in a thumb drive with all your digital project components OR your physical board and project components to the interview.

  • * Engineering projects involve building a new product and are evaluated using the design process: define, plan, model, test, refine, redesign.*

    Only select YES if you have created a new product or redesigned an old product following the Engineering Design Process

  • *If this is a group project, grade level is determined by the oldest member of the group.

  • * A virtual interview option is ONLY availible for participants outside of the southern Arizona region 

    If you select "Yes" you will recieve information to determine your virtual intervew eligibility by email.*

  • *If you change your mind and wish to submit a digital project submission later, please save the email you recieve after submitting this Jotform. You can later edit this same form and upload your digital files after your project is registered.*

  • AHSEF DIGITAL PROJECT SUBMISSION

  • This section of the form is to upload your digital project materials.

    This portion is ONLY if you are submitting a DIGITAL project (either on it's own or in addition to a physical posterboard). If you are only entering a physical posterboard you do not need to fill out this portion of the form.

     DIGITAL PROJECTS ARE DUE FEBRUARY 6th at MIDNIGHT

  • DIGITAL PROJECT REQUIRMENTS AND SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

     

    What to Bring to Fair:
    • A USB thumb drive with your ALL project components to your interview
    • Your computer to display your project at Public Viewing, Feb 8th

    *If you are a student taking classes at Quest remotely you will need to have a computer with reliable internet access for your interview. AHSEF will handle the in-person displays of your project.

     

    Necessary Components (to upload below):
    • Digital Project -- a slide deck formatted as a multi-page pdf, consisting of a maximum of 15 slides with 14 pt font. See ideas for formatting your 15 slides here
    • Journal Pages -- upload a few key pages (5-10) from your handwritten lab notebook
    • A SRC Form & Human Consent Form (if applicable, see Required Forms here)

     

    Important Notes for Digital Submissions:
    • ALL FILES MUST BE PDFs
    • Your name MUST NOT appear on the project presentation. The name can be in the file name ONLY "FirstNameLastName_Poster"
    • Use a font size of at least 14pt for the text on the slides. It’s acceptable to use 10pt fonts for captions on pictures and tables.
    • The first slide must be a Title slide or Quad chart.
    • Slide decks should be in landscape orientation with a page size of 8.5″x11″
    • Maximum of 15 slides for the project presentation pdf
    • No links or hyperlinks are permitted (except as a source for an image or on the references page)
    • Photos are encouraged to show the experimental setup.
    • Do NOT include photos of faces.
    • Every picture and image should have captions that include the source of the image.

  • JUDGING INTERVIEW

    STUDENTS MUST CHOOSE AN INTERVIEW TIME


    All students in Middle and High School MUST interview with a judge. Elementary students are highly encouraged to do so as well.

    All Interviews will be conducted on Friday, Feb 7th at the Science Fair. Please select an available time below.
