NoThere may be a strategy, but I’m not privy to it and it’s not discussed much.We have a strategy, but it's not as built out as it could be.Yes! Our strategy is dynamic, documented and shared with the entire organization.

If you have a strategy, do you have buy-in from everyone in the organization?*

We don't have a strategy.No, our strategy is really for the “Board Room” and “Outsiders”.Our strategy has buy-in from some members of the organization.Both leadership and team members understand, support, and actively participate in our strategy.

Is your strategy simple?*

We don't have a strategy.It’s complex and way too detailed for most to understand.It's pretty complicated. There's room for improvement.Yes! At every level, everyone knows the overall goals and how they contribute.

Does your strategy tell a story?*

We don't have a strategy.Our strategy is mostly about numbers and tasks.Our strategy has a finish line, we're just not all clear on how to get there.Yes! Our strategy is a journey, and we all know where we are on that path.

We don't have a strategy.No, our strategic plan is full of operational, non-important projects.Our strategy is a mixed bag of operational projects and true objectives.Yes! There’s a manageable number of critical objectives to achieve.

Are projects linked to strategic objectives?*

We have so many projects there's no time to attach strategy.We have projects with no strategic objective and vice versa.Some - but not all - of our projects are linked to strategic objectives.Yes! Only projects that are truly strategic are linked to objectives in the plan.

Are KPIs in place to measure progress?*

What's a KPI?We have some documents saying which KPIs to track, but no one uses them.We use KPIs, but they're not always aligned with the strategy.Yes! We have well thought-out KPIs that are focused and evolve with the strategy.

Is there a cadence to strategy updates?*

There's no strategy, so we never need to update it.Our strategy is pretty much set in stone.We update our strategy on an ad hoc basis.From top leadership down, there is a calendar of monthly and quarterly reviews and updates.
