    Are you passionate about advancing bold, meaningful change that all Californians deserve?  Are you  looking for a summer internship opportunity? AAPI FORCE-EF is seeking movement workers ready to grow with us 🌱

    Following years of pilot fellowship programming and program support and several batches of interns, AAPI FORCE-EF will be welcoming a third batch of interns during Summer 2023 to support internal campaign work development and external campaign support with our steering committee/partner network of over 10 statewide AAPI organizations.

    We are seeking a Field Intern, Communications Intern, and Policy Intern willing to commit 20-25 hours/week for an 8-week Summer internship opportunity from June 26th to August 18th (with room for extension based on performance/project needs). This is a paid internship where interns will be compensated at the rate of $20/hr. Interns will support AAPI FORCE-EF’s campaign work on campaigns including: Stop the Hate, corporate accountability, housing justice, etc.

    ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION:

    Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders for Civic Empowerment Education Fund (AAPI FORCE-EF) is a statewide network that builds progressive Asian American and Pacific Islander power in California through campaign organizing, policy advocacy, and integrated voter engagement. We provide capacity building support, coaching, and strategic planning to organizers and organizations with the intention of building a powerful AAPI voter mobilization infrastructure.

  • Communications Intern Work Sample

    Complete ONE of the following writing sample prompts. This activity should take you no more than 2 hours to complete.
  • A) Write a social media caption to accompany this meme calling for corporate accountability for inflation, housing crisis, and climate change. The Call to Action included in the caption should be to request signatures in support of SB567 (Homelessness Prevention Act). SB567 would lower the rent cap, expand the applicability and enforcement of the Tenant Protection Act, and strengthen “No Fault” eviction laws (which give renters first right of refusal if a landlord is attempting substantial rehabilitation and/or owner or relative move-in).

    B) Create a short TikTok-style video (less than 1 min) about one (or more) of the following AAPI FORCE-EF values:

    • Building AAPI Power
    • Integrated Voter Engagement
    • State-wide Coalition Building
    • Lifting AAPI Voices
    • Building Strong Alliances

    • Description: AAPIs are rising up in resistance! Join AAPI FORCE EF for a night of dynamic performances and artist conversations on civic engagement at our Night of Cultural Resistance. We’re inviting some outstanding community artists to share why and how their creative practices advocate for a more equitable future. As we get closer to the last day to turn in our ballots, we know it is our responsibility to get out and vote if we have the privilege to. Our choices will shape the realities of California and the communities around us. Join us on November 1 to get inspired, and get mobilized to make change for the AAPI community!
