School Breakfast Week (SBW) 2023 Success Stories

Alice ISD

Alice ISD combined celebrations for School Breakfast Week 2023 and Dr. Seuss’ birthday! They served themed breakfasts to engage students in getting the nutrients they need to succeed, and they will, indeed! Elementary schools enjoyed items like Strawberry Cream Cheese Stuffed Bagels and Green Egg and Ham Tacos while middle school and high school students celebrated with “Wacky Robot Waffles"!

Brownsville ISD

Brownsville ISD welcomed a special guest during SBW 2023– Buddy the Chicken from Tyson! Buddy flew and clucked his way through classrooms across the district to encourage students to eat a nutritious breakfast, like tamales, fruit, and milk! Brownsville ISD also held prize giveaways for students who joined them for breakfast throughout the week!

Granbury ISD

Granbury ISD celebrated SBW 2023 with breakfast themed books! Each morning the school nutrition team served a creative breakfast item that matched the book of the day. The mini pancakes matched “If You Gave A Pig A Pancake”. Granbury ISD served 9,862 breakfast meals throughout the week!

Conroe ISD

To celebrate, Conroe ISD encouraged students each day to “Get Your Day in Gear with a Healthy School Breakfast”. Each “gear” of a healthy school breakfast was highlighted throughout the week to show students how they work together to make a nutritious school breakfast! Students were able to celebrate School Breakfast Week with delicious breakfast items like turkey bacon, fresh fruit, and waffles!
