Dear Edwina Jr.Auditions!
We are so excited you are auditioning for Tree County Players' Summer Musical! Please take time to fill out this entire form!
Performances:
Our shows are Thursday, June 29, Friday, June 30, and Saturday, July 1st (all at 7:00 PM). Your child will need to be at the TCP Playhouse at 4:30 PM those evenings. They will snack, get their costumes and makeup on, and be ready for our show at 7:00! If you will be at the performance, you will pick your child up after. If you are not staying, please be in the TCP parking lot by 8:10 to pick your child up.
Audition Information:
Auditions will be at the TCP Playhouse on April 27th, 28th, and 29th. We suggest you find a few examples of the show on Youtube to watch so you are familiar with the entire show and the possible characters/parts. You can find the sides (or shortened audition scripts) and audition tracks here. Please also prepare one or two songs to sing at your audition.
Parts / Lines:
After auditions, we will be calling all families to let them know of our casting decisions. Cast members will receive scripts at the first practice / full cast read-through. Lines/songs must be memorized by JUNE 8th. Songs will be shared with cast members electronically as well to practice at home.
Costumes:
Every student will need a costume, even if that student is not a character with lines. All students involved will be on the stage at some point. When the musical is cast, and once practices start, we will send information with costuming items (most of which you will already have at home or can be found at Goodwill or Walmart). Anything you purchase or bring in will go back home with your child after the show. If you need any help acquiring items, we will get them for your child. We don’t want to put anyone in financial hardship to find a costume.
For Dear Edwina, as this is a show within a show, most characters will be able to wear regular clothing. There will be a detailed costume sheet that will be handed out at the first rehearsal. Students need to bring their costumes on Saturday, May 20th for approval.
Behavior Expectations:
Performers who are cast in our musical are expected to be active listeners, committed to memorizing and performing their part well, be helpful to others, and always be respectful to directors and other cast members. If there are behavior issues, parents and guardians will be contacted. If behavior issues persist, the performer may be asked to leave the cast.
Cost:
Your child will have the opportunity to purchase a cast shirt for $10-$15. Also, it is highly encouraged to support our organization by purchasing a family membership to Tree County Players ($20) or becoming a Tree County Players benefactor ($50+). Our organization is supported by members, and we do not charge our performers to be a part of the show. We use membership money to pay for the fixed costs of running our organization like utilities, insurance, building maintenance and repairs, business/janitorial expenses, and office expenses. You can become a member through our website at www.treecountyplayers.com.
Questions/Information:
For information and practice reminders, we will have a REMIND group. It is an easy way to send text reminders to families without having a big group text. Other users will NOT see your phone number, and it is a way for you to reply directly to me if you ever have a question or need anything. At the first rehearsal, I will send the code home with your child so that you can join and receive the texts and information.
