    Induction and Application For CentrePort ID Card

  • CentrePort is committed to providing a safe and secure workplace for all who work in, visit, and use the port. Everyone who works on port must complete this induction, which contains important information about health and safety, security, and protecting the environment.

    To be issued a CentrePort ID/Access card you need to:

      • be 16 years of age or older
      • read carefully through the induction material (insert link here)
      • correctly answer all the questions in the quiz (over the next few pages)
      • complete all fields in the card application section
      • upload a suitable photo of yourself (see note below) *

    You’ll need to complete all parts of the induction and provide the required identity information before you can enter the port.

    Your photo

    You need to provide a photo so we can create your CentrePort ID card. The photo can either be uploaded from a stored file or taken using the camera on your device.

    The photo you supply must meet the following to be acceptable:

    • the photo must be less than six months old, please do not apply filters to the image.
    • you must be facing the camera straight on with your head and shoulders facing forward.
    • the photo must be in in colour and in-focus
    • the background should be plain or neutral.
    • you must have a neutral expression.
    • you must not be wearing sunglasses or glasses that obscure your eyes.
    • you must not be wearing a head-covering unless this is required for religious reasons.
    • the image must not be a scan or photo of your passport, drivers’ licence, CPL ID Card, or similar photo ID.

    You must answer all questions correctly, and you’ll be able to correct any answers you get wrong. Please note that you won’t be able to progress to the next page unless you have selected the correct answers.

    Now you’ve completed the induction, you need to apply for an ID card. This is a photo ID that you need to carry with you on port at all times.

    To be issued a CentrePort ID/Access card you need to:

    • be 16 years of age or older
    • complete all fields below
    • upload a suitable photo of yourself (see notes below) *
    • click the 'Submit' button (when finished)

    *The photo you upload must meet the following to be acceptable:
    • the photo must be less than six months old, please do not apply filters to the image.

  • The Online induction must be viewed and completed by the person intending to enter and access the Port. Under no circumstances should another person complete an online induction on behalf of someone else. If found, that person will be excluded from access to the Port.

    We collect personal information from you, including your, name, phone number, email address and company/organisation and a photo.

    We collect this information so we can control access to secure areas of the port.[GR1]  We are required to do this by New Zealand legislation, including but not limited to the Maritime Security Act 2004, Customs and Excise Act 2018 and Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
