  • Master Instructor and Instructors: $200 

    To qualify as an Instructor Member of this association, a person must hold a
    current instructor certification or Master Instructor designation from ATSSA. Instructor Members cannot be employed by a company eligible for ATSSA membership or qualify for another individual category of membership.

    • All Instructor Members shall be entitled to purchase ATSSA’s products, services, and training at ATSSA-member prices.
    • Only those Instructor Members holding a current Master Instructor designation from ATSSA may participate on ATSSA committees or attend chapter meetings. 
    • Instructor Members are not entitled to serve or vote for At-Large members of the Board of Directors or serve on the Operating Committee.
  • Retiree Member: $75

    To qualify as a Retiree member of this association, a person must be fully retired from active business and have been previously employed by an ATSSA-eligible entity at the time of retirement.

    • Retiree members shall be entitled to:
      • serve on and hold elected office in standing committees,
      • participate in and hold elected office in chapters,
      • and may vote in certain of the association’s affairs.
  • Individual Consultant: $670 

    To qualify as an Individual Consultant Member of this association, a person must be a self-employed individual (sole-proprietor), may not have any employees and may not be an employee of any company eligible for membership.

    • An Individual Consultant Member is entitled to:
      • one vote for the At-Large member to the Board of Directors,
      • serve on and hold elective office in standing committees,
      • participate in and hold elective office in chapters,
      • and vote in certain of the association’s affairs.
  • Public Agency Individual:  $92

    To qualify as a Public Agency Individual member of this association, a person must be a full-time employee of a public agency at the federal, state, tribal, county, municipality, or local level of a transportation agency; utility company; tollway, HOV lane management, turnpike, bridge/tunnel and airport; post-secondary non-profit education to include colleges, universities, and trade schools; and government research, testing labs, LTAP and non-profit training facilities.

  • Student Member: $29

    To qualify as a Student Member of this association, a person must be enrolled in a
    public or private post-secondary career/technical school, apprenticeship program, community college, college or university; or be a registered graduate student. Student membership is available for two years for certificate and associate degree programs; four years for baccalaureate (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution; and up to six years for graduate program students. Student Members will need to apply and qualify for another ATSSA membership category within one year of graduation. Individuals taking courses or certification programs lasting less than 6 months are not eligible.

    • Student members shall be entitled to:
      • attend standing committees,
      • participate in chapter meetings,
      • and are not entitled to vote in national elections or national governance issues.
  • New Professional Member: $67 

    To qualify as a New Professional Member, a person must have graduated within the last 12 months from a public or private post-secondary career/technical school, apprenticeship program, community college, college or university; and must not be employed by a current ATSSA member company. This membership is available to individuals new to the roadway safety industry for up to two years.

    • New Professional members shall be entitled to:
      • serve on standing committees,
      • participate in chapter meetings,
      • however, are not entitled to vote in national elections or national governance issues.
  • Full: $1,030-$33,475

    Dues are calculated based on the company's previous year annual revenues from all combined offices, branches, locations within the roadway safety industry.

     

    The following types of companies may apply as a Full member:

    Roadway Safety Contractor and/or installer of temporary traffic control zones; provider of flagging services; installation, maintenance or removal of pavement markings; installation and maintenance of guardrail and roadside safety features; installation and maintenance of traffic signs and/or signals. At least 50% of the company’s revenue must be from sources other than the parent or affiliated companies and be classified in one of the following Divisions.

    • Traffic Services Division – installation, rental and/or servicing of temporary traffic control zones;
    • Pavement Marking Division – installation, maintenance or removal of pavement markings;
    • Sign Manufacturing Division – installation, maintenance or sales of traffic signs;
    • Guardrail Services Division – installation and/or maintenance of roadside safety features;
    • Traffic Signals - installation or maintenance

         
    Manufacturer and Supplier of traffic control devices, roadway safety equipment, pavement marking products and equipment, traffic signs and equipment, traffic signals, high friction surface treatment products, guardrail, safety gear, PPE, barriers and channelizing devices.

    Service Provider to the roadway safety industry to include but not limited to engineering and design, accident reconstruction, software, legal and financial services, staffing agency, temporary staffing or job placement provider, and manufacturer representative firms. The firm must provide services specific to the roadway safety industry or have a department or division designated to traffic safety.

     

    Full membership is billed annually on an anniversary basis. When an organization joins ATSSA, all of its employees can become a member and receive membership benefits at no additional costs. Chapter participation is a benefit of membership and is included in the annual membership fee.   • Full: $1,030-$33,475

  • Associate – Non Government Agency: $979 

    The following types of agencies, company’s and schools may apply as an Associate - Non Government member: Utility company, tollways, HOV lane management, turnpikes, bridges/tunnels; airports; post-secondary private/for-profit colleges, university and trade schools; research, testing labs and for-profit training facilities.

    Associate - Non Government membership is billed annually on an anniversary basis.   • Affiliate - Association: $750

    The following types of organizations can apply for Affiliate - Association membership: international, national, state or local associations.

  • Affiliate - Coalition: $750

    The following types of organizations can apply for Affiliate - Coalition membership: international, national, regional or state coalitions with similar public or private (non-contractor) member entities.

When an organization joins ATSSA, all its employees can become a member and receive membership benefits at no additional costs. Chapter participation is a benefit of membership and is included in the annual membership fee.   • Individuals working for a roadway safety contractor, supplier or manufacturer or any company that would qualify for ATSSA membership are not eligible for individual membership*. Eligible companies should join ATSSA as a Full, Public Agency, Associate, or Affiliate member. All employees that work for a member company are eligible for member benefits under the company membership.

    *Students, New Industry Professionals and Employees of Public Agencies whose agency is not a member of ATSSA, are the exceptions to this rule.
