BCCWITT is working with the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) to recruit participants for the Canadian Welding Board (CWB) Welding Foundation Women of Steel pre-employment welding program.

The program is open to anyone who identifies as a woman, including those from racialized or marginalized groups such as Indigenous, Black, newcomers, LGBTQ2S, women with disabilities, or with a prolonged detachment from the labour force.

The 16 week hands-on program runs from June 5 to September 29, 2023 at Chilliwack campus of UFV. This is a tuition free program for successful applicants. Participants will also receive wraparound supports including tools and PPE.

All personal information in the Participant Intake form, the Surveys, any Testimonial and other information related to your participation in the program (“Personal Information”) is collected pursuant to sections 26(c), 26(e), and 27(1)(a)(i) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (the Act). This information will be used for administrative, evaluation, program development, and /or research purposes, including to determine your eligibility for participation in the program.

This information will be disclosed under sections 27(1)(b) under the Act to the University of the Fraser Valley and the Canadian Welding Board for funding and program administration, evaluation, program development and/or research purposes, and will be provided to the Government of Canada (“Canada”) to meet reporting requirements about programs funded by Canada.
