Soon, we are going to begin negotiations with the WWU Administration for a union contract that will define the important rights and protections that affect our working conditions. Provide full or partial tuition waivers for all student employees
Guarantee discounted/free, accessible parking on campus while employed

Provide a survivor-centered grievance process in cases of bullying, sexual harassment, and discrimination (e.g.: interim protective measures, enforceable timelines, strong alternatives to address limitations of the Title IX Process)
Fund student-led training programs to prevent discrimination and harassment
Provide full workplace accommodations for student employees with disabilities
Provide free/discounted housing for student employees with disabilities
Divest from campus police and redirect resources to alternative health and safety programs
Protect rights of undocumented student employees to live and work in the US
Provide paid parental/family leave
Provide funds for childcare assistance
Provide affordable health care for dependents and partners
Strengthen support for international student employees around issues like visas, travel restrictions, and discriminatory federal policies

Guarantee that all hours that are worked are compensated
Make sure that job schedules are set with enough advance notice
Make sure that hourly jobs have clear expected minimum hours
Provide sick leave / bereavement leave with clear policies
Provide job protections and insurance during long term leaves (e.g. sick leave, family leave, unpaid leaves)
Provide vacation days with clear policies
Provide advance notice so you know if you have a job in the coming quarter
Provide clear job descriptions
Guarantee longer appointment lengths when possible (i.e. 3 quarters)
Protect against unjust termination and unnecessary layoffs
Pay overtime for showing up to work on holidays, breaks, and weekends
Provide access to campus services (e.g. food) during all work hours

We need people to help share this survey with coworkers, and we’ll also need help generating bargaining demands, creating proposals, and deepening our community across campus.
