Event Info 

September 9 and 10, 2023 at the Lake Country Community Complex.

Over 7,000 people come to enjoy this high-quality arts festival. 

The theme for ArtWalk this year is:  “ArtWalk 2023: Art and Story Bound Together”

Please Note: 

1. Please note this application will take 15-30 minutes to complete. Please ensure you have the time and are prepared with all your information and image files to submit. Fields with * are mandatory. 

2. Please ensure the actual image files are individually named with the following convention: Artist Last Name_ArtworkTitle, no larger than 10MB in size (per image) and saved in one of the following formats: jpeg, jpg, zip, or png

3. You will need to complete the form in one session. Please begin with all materials prepared to avoid timing out the form and losing information. Please ensure you have a reliable internet connection while completing this form. 

4. If you are unable to participate in the online submission process, please email info@lakecountryartwalk.ca. 

5. Applications are open April 1- June 1, 2023

Submit the application by June 1, 2023. 
The Jury Process will take place in June; you will be notified by email in early July.

Guidelines for Exhibiting

• Choose from two sizes of booth space: 100 sq ft for $100 or 200 sq ft for $200 (we will try to provide your preference, but cannot always guarantee the larger space )
• In addition to the fee for space, all artists will pay a 10% commission of sales to ArtWalk
• Spaces may vary in configuration (ie. 10x20 or 8 x 25)
• You must aim for a gallery-like display within your space
• All artwork must be originals, no reproductions or greeting cards
• Artwork must be new works that have not been shown at ArtWalk before

Criteria for Selection of Artworks:

• All work must be original, creative art
• Artworks must be of high quality, showing a good body of work for each artist
• Artists must reside in the Okanagan Valley
• Any types of artwork may be included (two-dimensional, sculpture, any medium)
• There is a separate jury processes and applications for Fibre Arts. 

The Jury Process will take place in June, applicants will be notifed by email in early July. 

The following guidelines apply to your participation in ArtWalk:

1. The application form, to be used by galleries and artist groups, is an online application. If it is not possible to apply online, you can mail in the application form and artwork on a memory stick. Fibre Arts will use separate forms, which can be found on the website.

2. Everyone who applies to ArtWalk will be Juried every year.

3. There will be two Jury processes:
- Artists, Groups, Galleries, Photography
- Fibre Arts

4. There are two choices for space: 100 square feet for $100 or 200 square feet for $200.

5. Everyone will pay a 10% commission fee.

6. You may handle your own sales or may use our central Sales Table. If you are handling your own sales, we ask, and trust, you to report your sales accurately.

7. We encourage you to create your own display supports/panels/easels suitable for your artworks. (nothing to exceed 72” high). See the website for some examples and guidelines for creating an effective display of your artwork.

8. Some grid walls will be available, and you may request them, but please note that there is a limited number of grid walls, so we need to share them among all requests. Typically, we can provide up to 6 grid panels for those artists requesting them. Each panel is 2’ x 6’. Include your request for grid walls on the second form that will be sent to you if you are selected by the Jury Committee.

9. The number of artworks that will be displayed in your space is your choice, however, we encourage you to create a Gallery-like display, without overcrowding the art. The ArtWalk Committee will provide assistance with your display if requested and also reserves the right to make adjustments as necessary to ensure your display meets the overall safety and quality expectations of this art show.

10. Artists do not need to use the Theme in their artworks’ imagery. You will be notified of any Theme related activities that give artists an opportunity to participate.

11. If you are selected, you will provide the details for your exhibition labels online. Instructions for doing this online will be provided for you in a follow-up letter.

Artwork Submission

Groups, please upload images of 10 works per artist for the jury to consider. If you have more than 10 works you would like to submit, please email us at info@lakecountryartwalk.ca

Galleries must list all artists whose work they intend to represent. 

The works you submit do not have to be the exact pieces you intend to show at ArtWalk, but should be an indication of the type and quality of your work. All forms of your artwork must be juried in order to be shown. 

Please note:

• Recognizing that artists may continue to create new artwork during the summer, it is possible to exhibit works that have not been listed below.
  If accepted to ArtWalk 2023, you will be required to submit a final list of your exhibiting artworks before August 18, 2023.
  All artwork must be originals, no reproductions or greeting cards
  Artwork must be new works that have not been shown at ArtWalk before
