Celebrate Earth Day with your friends and family at Bowmanville Westside Marshes Conservation Area! Plant trees and pick up litter to help keep the Conservation Area and Lake Ontario Shoreline healthy and clean. Pick up your discovery passport and participate in various activities to learn about these two important coastal wetlands.
As you hike through meadow and forest down to the Westside Marsh (1.5 km accessible loop), visit with our staff to learn about local plants, birds, fish, reptiles, and amphibians. On your way back, enjoy a tale along the trail StoryWalk posted by Clarington Public Library, Museums & Archives. We’ll have beading with Indigenous Artisan Janet Dugan, coastal wetland themed button making with OPG, a water protectors activity with Durham Waste Management and giveaways for the kids. Weather permitting, our painted turtle and garter snake teaching animals will be around for a meet and greet!
Event is FREE (including parking)!
Brought to you in partnership with the Clarington Public Library, Museums & Archives, the Municipality of Clarington, Durham Waste Management, and the Ontario Power Generation.
