The Employment Standards Act, 2000 states that on average, you should not be asked to work more than 48 hours each week or more than 8 hours in a day.
By signing the Opt-Out Agreement, you will give yourself the power to decide how many hours per week you want to work. It gives you the right to plan your working week however you may wish.
You are under no obligation to sign this form.
The Opt-Out Agreement states that if you are working over 48 hours a week, you agree to get paid the same hourly rate with NO time and a half.
I {fullName} agree that I may work for more than an average of 48 hours a week. If I change my mind, I will give my employer two weeks’ notice in writing to end this agreement.
