  • Come learn how to teach your existing curriculum using agriculture asthe context for learning!

    Maryland’s land provides many agricultural crops, but its waters also play a large role in our food production. From soft crabs to oysters to trout, aquaculture is plentiful on the western shore! Come learn about the diversity of Maryland’s aquaculture and how you can use it as the context from which to teach all subject areas within your classroom. Hands-on sessions will focus on growing in water, with hydroponic and aquaponic systems, and ways to use these concepts to engage your students in thinking about alternative methods of producing food. Ready to implement lessons will be shared with direct connections to science, language arts, and math curriculum and standards. Focus on Elementary and Middle School both formal and non formal educators! The cost to participate is $90 ***At the completion of the workshop attendees will be mailed a travel stipend to help with travel costs, travel stipend amount TBD.
