ABOUT THE STUDY
This is a research project that shall serve as partial fulfillment of the project of Shane Clancy, a student at ACM. This survey aims to identify the extent to which current composers, songwriters, or musicians in general use Negative Harmony in their compositions.
WHY ME?
You are being asked to participate in this study because you are a songwriter or composer in some form.
PARTICIPATION
Please understand that your participation in this survey is voluntary and you may, at anytime, refuse to take part in this research. In the case that you do wish to withdraw, please let me know your wish to withdraw at the e-mail provided. You may freely decline in answering particular questions that may feel uncomfortable to you.
Please understand that any questions pertaining to age are for demographic labelling purposes only.
The option of anonymity will also be provided to you and your data.
COSTS
Your participation in this project will not cost you anything.
RISKS
There are no known foreseeable risks involved in participating in this study. However, there might be some questions that may give you discomfort in answering. In this case, you may let me know that you intend to not answer the specific question involved.
Appropriate risk assessments for all procedures have been conducted and will be followed throughout the duration of the study.
CONFIDENTIALITY
The answers to the survey will be stored in JotForm.com. Access to this information is password protected and secured. We will not share your name, or any information that can personally identify you.
All data will be stored and processed in accordance with GDPR.
The results will be used as part of an undergraduate/postgraduate dissertation. There is also the possibility that the results may be published to academia or otherwise to a wider audience. However, the data will only be used by members of the research team and at no point will your personal information or data be revealed in this sense.
