  • CODE AND GUIDELINES

  • I am signing up to participate in online Bright Business Accelerator and Mastermind Group (BBAMG), conducted by BRSINESS.

Brsiness.com herein noted as "Bright Business Accelerator and Mastermind Group or BBAMG."

I understand that I can only enroll in the program and participate in the monthly online meetings or weekly classes/quests after I pay the yearly Membership.

  • Purpose:

The Purpose of our Bright Business Accelerator and Mastermind Group (BBAMG) is to be an ongoing resource to local purpose-driven entrepreneurs to design and continuously improve their business journey.

    Trust:

In order for people to feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and concerns within the framework of these meetings, trust is vital. Therefore, everything that is revealed within a Mastermind meeting must be held in strict confidence.

    Meeting Coordinator and Timekeeper:

Members are expected to respect the meeting agenda.

When a person takes considerably more than their share of the agenda or dominates discussion periods, they deprive everyone else in the group who is looking to gain experience as well. When the group follows the format, everyone will have an opportunity to speak within the framework of the group, and each Member will participate equally.

To ensure that each Member has an equal chance to speak, a designated "Timekeeper" will be assigned to every group, responsible for limiting each Member's speaking time to no more than 5-6 minutes per turn. The timekeeper leads and coordinates the group conversation in collaboration with the facilitator. Each group member should be able to lead the group conversation and be a timekeeper.

    Commitment:

It is expected that each Member be present on time for the meeting, which will promptly begin at the scheduled time.
You must participate in all classes/quests and meetings. They are the cornerstone of the group.
We understand that people have vacations and emergencies. If you will be away from the group, post a message on the LinkedIn board so everyone is aware. If you don't participate in the group for two weeks without notifying other members, you will be removed from the group, and you will not be allowed to join again.

Give as much as you receive.

When stating your goals, state them as clearly as you can, with a definitive deadline attached to each goal. If your goal is large and far-ranging, state intermediate "milestone" goals and the deadline for those smaller goals. This will help the group to understand what you're hoping to achieve, as well as help the group to hold you accountable to your goals and deadlines. As the saying goes, "A goal without a deadline is called a dream."

    Authenticity:

Inquire from a genuine desire to know and understand the other person. Inquire from a place where the other person's answers can help him or her to gain clarity and insight into his or her own situation.
Listen fully, with the intent to truly hear.
Speak your truth, from the heart, without attempting to make someone wrong.
    Respect:

Avoid discussing controversial topics such as politics, religion, or any other subject that is touchy. Never introduce ANY subject that will weaken the cordial and cooperative spirit of the group.
All discussions must be treated as confidential in order to maintain trust and confidence between members of the group.
Avoid arguing over points of view. Respect that people see things in different ways.
Avoid attempting to change someone else's point of view.
Do not put down other members.
Everyone is here to support each other. Please keep in mind there will be constructive criticism, and people will attempt to hold you accountable, but there should be no putting down or criticism of other group members. It should be an open and positive experience for all.
Avoid trying to convince people of your way of thinking. You are encouraged to share your opinion respectfully, even when it differs from the rest of the group, but avoid being argumentative or condescending.
Listen when others are talking and avoid cross-talk and side conversations.
Encourage intelligent risks. You can't be an entrepreneur while simultaneously avoiding risk. It's inevitable. But we must refuse to be reckless. If group members care about each other, they will not lead each other down a path they think will cause someone to ruin.
Always approach Bright Business Accelerator and Peer Advisory Group as an opportunity to invest in others.

    Thoughtfulness:

Speak only when moved to speak. Take time to reflect before speaking. Avoid knee-jerk reactions.

    Openness:

Suspend assumptions. It is sometimes the person who knows the least about your industry who can give you the best insights because they come to the idea fresh with no preconceived ideas about how things "should" be.

    Collective Thinking:

Mastermind group members learn quickly that they must leave their ego at the door.
Those who are unwilling to relinquish power won't last long. Problems can occur when some members have unrealistic group expectations or don't grasp the concept of collective thinking. Some members may expect the group to solve all of their business or personal problems, or they may want to use the group as a therapy session.
Groups that have self-centered, dominant members may self-destruct if the group allows that behavior to continue. Individual members like this can undermine the true Purpose of the group's formation. An individual member who tries to overpower the group or misuse it will be warned and eventually be voted out of the group if the behavior continues because that person throws off the whole balance of the group.

    LinkedIn Group:

You must join the LinkedIn group in order to participate in it.
You may set your own LinkedIn settings to allow for email notifications from the group so you don't miss any important communications.
Moderators will be monitoring the LinkedIn group daily, but all members should provide guidance and support to each other. If you see a question and you know the answer, jump in and help a fellow member!
Remember to keep the tone of your posts as respectful as if you were speaking to another member of the group during our calls, following the same guidelines outlined above. Follow all LinkedIn policies in our private group.

    Adding New Members:

Mastermind groups must be cultivated and nurtured. They don't just happen. When looking for potential new members to add to our group, watch out for users and abusers...those people who tout their contacts and sources, promise you introductions, and—usually after you have delivered the goods a few times—they are too busy or forget to "make good." An easy way to spot these people is to pay attention to their behavior as opposed to listening to their words. Remember, actions speak louder than words.

Look for opportunities to bring more Bright Entrepreneurs into BBAMG. Invite people into your group when there are open seats.

    The following are prohibited:

    • Solicitations to raise money or sell an investment of any kind

    Some Final Thoughts

Please post an initial LinkedIn message introducing yourself to the group. Tell us about your background, your business, and a few of your challenges and goals for the next 12 months. Include some personal information, including where you live, so we can all get to know each other better. Take time to read the introductory messages of others.

We can all help each other, grow our businesses and have a healthier and happier life through the use of this group and the principles of the Bright Business Model. We know that you will get a lot out of this group by staying engaged and working collaboratively using the guidelines set forth here.

  • Standard Mastermind Meeting Format (180Min)

The timeframe below is an example of a meeting format. Some classes or meetings can have different structures and lengths.
20 minutes: Five Minute Updates: each Member shares a win or a challenge from the previous month and/or
an update on the Matrix and OKR (Objective and Key Results) they mentioned last month.
30 minutes: Topic — The lecture will focus on a specific topic from the Bright Business Model, as outlined in the annual curriculum.
30 Minutes: Learn how to implement the topic into members' business practices effectively.
30 Minutes: Brainstorm and FAQ session to ensure each Member understood the subject, how to implement it, and the benefits.
20 minutes: The Alpha Member/Members (Hot Seat) Presentation: one Member in "the hot seat" shares something they are working on, describes how that is going, and asks the group for advice and experiences that might help him or her. Here will apply the Bright Business Methodology (matrix and framework) to help.
20 minutes: Hot Seat Feedback: members provide help to the Alpha Member using Bright Business Methodology
20 minutes: Three Minute Goals: Each Member shares their goal for the next week/month.
10 minutes: Goal Feedback: Members can share advice or resources related to the three-minute goals that were just shared.

Business Acceelerator and Mastermind Coordonator Responsabilities:

Determine the meeting length, frequency, group size, and general guidelines for member recruitment, preferably with buy-in from other founding group members.
Maintain a schedule of meeting dates, hosts (locations), and whose turn to be in the Alpha Member (Hot Seat).

Ensure that group members follow ground rules and stick to the agenda as much as possible (without "leading" the meeting).

Communicate with Brsiness.com staff about the overall health of the BBA (Bright Business Accelerator) or Mastermind Group (MG) and whether there are any open seats in the group. Brsiness staff can sometimes recommend new members they think would be a good fit.

  • NON SOLICITATION

In a BBAMG, it is important to create an environment of trust and respect among members. To support this goal, members must agree to our guidelines, including non-solicitation.

Members are prohibited from promoting their and/or competing peer support and business management training programs to other Members via Brsiness.com's digital media communications platforms, including, but not limited to, Slack, Linkedin, Instagram, and Facebook. This provision ensures that members can focus on the BBAMG's discussions and learning opportunities without the pressure of being solicited by other members.

In the event that there is a question about whether a potentially competitive business operating violates this provision of the Code, the Member shall contact Brsiness.com to discuss the potential conflict. Ultimately, the Member will likely need to provide a written description of the business and the potential conflict so that both parties have written confirmation of what was represented.

Furthermore, participants agree not to solicit other members for any purpose during or after the program. This includes but is not limited to selling products and services or recruiting for other programs. Any violation of this clause may result in immediate termination from the program without a refund. This provision ensures that members can focus on their learning and growth without feeling pressure to buy or participate in programs or services that may not be relevant to their needs.
In summary, non-solicitation is an essential component of a successful BBAMG. By agreeing to these guidelines, members can build trust and respect among each other, focus on their learning and growth, and create a supportive community that is free from external pressures.

    CONFIDENTIALITY AND NONDISCLOSURE POLICY

Confidentiality is a critical aspect of any successful Peer Advisory Group. Members of the BBAMG agree to maintain the confidentiality of any information shared within the group. The following are the terms of the confidentiality and nondisclosure policy:

Members shall respect and preserve the privacy of the Disclosing Member at all times, during and after the duration of the Membership.
Each BBAMG shall be deemed a Disclosing Member.
Confidential Information refers to any non-public information, no matter how obtained, that is clearly identified as proprietary or confidential or which by its nature should be reasonably construed to be confidential. This includes processes, know-how, business methods, trade secrets, research, customer lists, customer needs, prices, costs, marketing plans, strategy, sales, financial Information, and personal and family Information regarding the Covered Parties.
