BASE Save the Home Program Registration Form

The Save the Home Program is designed to provide community members with affordable, foundational training for their beloved canine companions. This program is perfect for preparing to take group classes, building training at-home, or getting additional coaching with a behavior modification plan.

When you complete your registration, the Canine Behavior Team will pair you with one of our excellent staff and volunteer trainers based on their experience and availability. All trainers in this program either hold professional training licensure or are working towards their CPDT-ka certification with supervision by licensed behavior staff.

Sessions may be held at a variety of locations depending on the goals of your training plan including, but not limited to, our Program Center in Manchester, CT, local parks, or in-home visits.*

All Our Companions Behavior Programs follow a Pay-What-You-Can System, where clients can adjust the price of classes based on what they are willing and able to pay. The suggested price for this program is $275 and includes three, one-hour private sessions.

If you answered YES to either of the above questions and do not already have a training/management plan in place, please email our Helpline at helpline@ourcompanions.org to schedule a FREE behavioral evaluation.

Our behavior evaluations are designed to help pet guardians better understand their dog's needs and set them up for success in our programs. We highly recommend this as a first step, especially if this is your first dog with behavioral challenges.

Every dog participating in training programs at Our Companions Animal Rescue (OCAR) must be up-to-date on their Rabies Vaccination in accordance with Connecticut State Law. All clients are required to submit proof of vaccination before the first session.

In consideration for participation in the training offered by Our Companions Animal Rescue (OCAR), I hereby assume all responsibility for any claim, loss or damage, of whatever kind or nature, whether to person or property, arising out of or related to this training. I further agree that I will hold OCAR, its officers, directors, trainers, volunteers, agents and members harmless and defend them from any and all liability for any injury, claim, damage or loss, of whatever kind or nature, whether to person or property, arising out of or related to this training. I agree to indemnify OCAR, its officers, directors, trainers, volunteers, agents or members who might be the subject of any claim, suit, loss or damage caused in any way by any act or negligence on my part or on the part of my dog during the Training Program.

I also understand that the degree to which a dog is successfully trained is a function of the interest, commitment, and cooperation of the owner.
