  • Dorothy Strelsin Polar Bear Education Program

The Dorothy Strelsin Polar Bear Education Program meaningfully connects students with Polar Bears, going beyond the novelty of a single-day field trip. Through several grant-funded visits to Assiniboine Park, the program fosters learning and engagement outside the classroom and in the community, while supporting students as they develop a sense of agency around the climate crisis. As an opportunity for both students and teachers to immerse themselves in Arctic ecology, the program offers new and exciting ways to create cross-curricular connections, allowing students to understand the true ramifications of a warming Arctic climate.
