To be seen, heard, and known are vital to our existence and our mental and emotional strength. To be first seen, known and loved by our Father in Heaven as well as a brother or sister right beside us is how we can find stability and longevity. Please consider being a prayer partner in the midst of life and this crucial but beautiful work we are a part of at SVDP.
What it means to be a Prayer Partner:
- Prayer partners can happen through in person or virtual meetings, friendly conversation over lunch, or silent reflection in one of our chapels. You have creative freedom with your partner over what you would like your time together to look like.
- Prayer Partners will be randomly assigned through an online randomizer.
- Participants need not be Catholic or Christian to participate. Anyone, Catholic or not, is welcome to come to the table to give and receive what is necessary to flourish!
- Participants will be encouraged to meet either weekly or monthly with their assigned partner.
- All conversations you have with your Prayer Partner are confidential, and the Formation Team will never ask you about your conversations. In addition, if you are a staff member paired with a fellow staff member, it will never be with your supervisor or another member of your team.
- Pairs will be connected in early December so please sign up by Christmas if you'd like to join.
Some suggestions of things to do amongst your partnership are:
- Say a prayer together for each other, our neighbors, or your loved ones!
- Share a recent victory and celebrate, or share a recent obstacle and listen or ask for advice
- Tell them your story and what drew you to mission
- Bake them a goody and deliver it to them with a word of encouragement
- The possibilities are endless!
