• Image Annotation

  • Purpose:

The survey will be used for my Bachelor project, "Seeing the Words". The project investigates the difference between art created by people against the art created by AI, which both use the same text prompt to depict an image. The art will be compared using image classification and analysis models. However, since analysing and classifying paintings is large and vague and can differ from person to person, this survey minimises the scope to a few attributes by collecting a consensus of labels from the survey participants.

The paintings used will be from the Renaissance era, relating to a text prompt from the bible.

    Survey layout:

This survey consists mainly of two parts:

Part 1 (prompt analysis): The first part is analysing the given bible text, where we identify explicit objects and implicit objects from the text, such as elements, people, beings and any quantifiable entities that are referenced.

Part 2(image annotation): In this section, five different paintings will be presented where you can verify the given annotation that might be relevant to the painting. for some subsections, you may also add a personal annotation that references entities in the painting.

The survey aims to gather data on the elements incorporated in the painting and from the text.

This survey looks at the Last Supper (Mark 14:12-25).

The result of the survey will be published in the near future and will be reused in the future for more following-up studies and comparisons of that of A.I.-generated art.

    PRIVACY:

The survey will remain anonymous (a.k.a. you will not need to provide any personal data in the survey). Since this project is conducted as a part of my bachelor thesis, the raw data of the survey will not be published but will remain in the SURFDrive for backup for 10 years. You may provide your email address to get the research results. Your email address will NOT be associated with any data to be published but will only be used to update the research results.

  • Text prompt (Mark 14:12-25)

12 And on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrificed the passover lamb, his disciples said to him, “Where will you have us go and prepare for you to eat the passover?” 13 And he sent two of his disciples, and said to them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you; follow him, 14 and wherever he enters, say to the householder, ‘The Teacher says, Where is my guest room, where I am to eat the passover with my disciples?’ 15 And he will show you a large upper room furnished and ready; there prepare for us.” 16 And the disciples set out and went to the city, and found it as he had told them; and they prepared the passover.17 And when it was evening he came with the twelve. 18 And as they were at table eating, Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.” 19 They began to be sorrowful, and to say to him one after another, “Is it I?” 20 He said to them, “It is one of the twelve, one who is dipping bread into the dish with me. 21 For the Son of man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.”22 And as they were eating, he took bread, and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them, and said, “Take; this is my body.” 23 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he got gave it to them, and they all drank of it. 24 And he said to them, “This is my blood of the[b] covenant, which is poured out for many. 25 Truly, I say to you, I shall not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”
