Leaders of the Future Scholarship 2023
  • AOS 2023 Leaders of the Future Scholarship

    Application Deadline - April 30, 2023
  • Three (2) Scholarships for $1,000 for scholars to apply to the university of their choice. The announcement of the winners will take place in June.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    1. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from a high school in Dallas County or an active graduating member of our Rhoer Affiliate.


    2. Applicant must have a 3.0 (B) grade point average or above

    3. Applicant must be accepted and enrolled in a 4-year college/university by the fall term.


    4. Applicant must furnish a current high school transcript or academic record.

    6. Applicant must have two (2) letters of recommendation; one (1) from a work supervisor or school administrator and one (1) from a guidance counselor or teacher. If you are not currently employed, you may obtain your letters from teachers, guidance counselors, or school administrators.

    NOTE: Applicants cannot submit recommendation letters with their application. Work supervisors, school administrators, guidance counselors or teachers can email recommendation letters directly to
    scholarship@sgrhodallas.com.


    7. Applicant must be a resident of Dallas County.


    8. Applicant must complete a one (1) page essay (double spaced) answering one (1) of the following questions provided in this application. 


  • If selected, you will be asked for documentation to support the data you provide. Likewise, all correspondence and award agreements will be generated from the personal information submitted below. So, please use proper spelling, capitalization and punctuation.

    Information regarding gender, ethnic origin and race are optional. The information is requested for post-scholarship report generation only and in no way affects your selection for college scholarship awards. However, providing this information may increase your opportunities for scholarships where donors have asked that priority consideration be given to students meeting certain demographic criteria (such as minority status, parent's place of employment, area of study, etc.)

  • Your essay should be 300-500 words. You should address one of the following prompts below: 

    a. What do you feel has been the biggest problem or challenge that you’ve had to face as a teenager? Explain how you dealt with the challenge, and the outcome.

    b. Who is or has been the most important person in your life and why? Explain what makes that person so important or special. What characteristics does that person have that you hope to have as well?

    c. What are your goals or plans after you graduate from college?
