The Dartmouth Health Department of Surgery welcomes students who identify as underrepresented in medicine and plan to pursue a residency in General Surgery to apply for our Acting Surgical Internship. The AAMC defines underrepresented as "those racial and ethnic populations underrepresented in the medical profession relative to their numbers in the general population".
This 4-week experience will offer exposure to the practice of general surgery. Eligible students include those who meet the AAMC's definition of URiM, are enrolled in their final year of medical school, and have completed all required core clerkships. Students who are selected will have to apply to VSLO prior to the start of their rotation.
A $2,500 stipend will be offered to the one accepted student to help with travel and housing expenses.
Application deadline: May 1
