As a minister of dance, and part of this Ministry, it is your responsibility to keep yourself in a right relationship with God. You have a responsibility to passionately seek the face of God and humble yourself to His call for your life. Know that He will keep you and lead you to the right leader and ministry.
1. Support the vision of the leader. Remember God gave choreography and the "vision" for the team to the leader/choreographer, not to you. Be supportive even if you can't see the "big" picture, stepping up to the plate when your assistance is required. Remember your own sensitivity if you were in this position. Providing positive insight in the manner you would like to receive. There will be times the director will look to the ministry for guidance &/or assistance, feel free to step in during those times.
2. Be a person of your word. Uphold your commitment to the ministry.
3. Attend rehearsals/classes regularly. If you have committed to practice, be a person of your word and follow through responsibly, attending classes and rehearsals consistently. Immediately notify the director if you are unable to attend at any time.
4. Begin class/rehearsals at dedicated times. Arrive to class/rehearsal prepared and ready to begin warm-up and other assignments provided by choreographer/instructor.
5. When arriving late, enter the classroom quietly to avoid disrupting. Quietly find an area to stretch and warm-up to prevent injury. Afterwards, continue forward with fellow class members with choreography. Any choreography or assignments missed are your sole responsibility to retrieve from fellow members at a time that will not disrupt the present class.
6. Avoid disruptions during rehearsals. Keep in mind classes and rehearsals are on a time frame. You are not the only one taking class. Use class time wisely. Silence ALL electronic devices, and limit unrelated conversations during class/rehearsal. Inform instructor(s) prior to the beginning of class if you need to take an emergency telephone call. Once call comes through, quietly step out of the classroom to avoid disrupting others. Reenter the classroom after completing the call quietly, making sure to silence phone.
Have fun, enjoy class, but save socializing for the end of class/rehearsal.
7. Attend mandatory technical rehearsals. Technical rehearsals provide the necessary opportunity to run choreography within venue space.
8. Do not wait until practice to review choreography. Take the necessary time between class/rehearsals and go over choreography. Meditate on music and familiarize yourself with lyrics. Know placement and cues once provided to you. This allows the choreographer confidence in you and notice of your dedication to the Ministry.
9. Notify of any absenteeism. In the event a member will be unavailable for class, rehearsal, worship Sunday or invitational events contact AUPD Ministry Director at aupraisedance@gmail.com or the cell number at (734)345-1529, if no one is available PLEASE leave a message!
10. Be respectful to ministry garments. AUPD Ministry garments are sacred. Please do not, at any time, tamper with AUPD Ministry garments without consent of the directory. Apply lotions, creams, deodorant, etc. at least an hour prior to adorning service garments. DO NOT apply vaseline, oils, lotions, perfume, etc. after adorning garments. Avoid food & beverages (except water) in the same area of garments at any time.
11. Pray for ministry leadership. Leading with Vision and Creativity.
12. Go to your leader about any problems and concerns. Never go to another member about problems or situations you may have regarding the ministry. By doing so, you allow the "enemy' control over the situation. Approach your leader seeking prayer, guidance and assistance. Work closely with your leader in overcoming negative situations.
13. Make sure you are friendly to everyone. Do not get trapped in being a part of "cliques." Do not exclude people just because they are new to the ministry or they have a different personality or abilities than yours. Remember God sends those who cross our class thresholds. We learn and grow together, operating on one accord.
I, have received, read, and understand the above Praise Dance Member Roles expected of me as I proceed forward as a member of Authentically U Praise Dance Ministry.
