  • 🌿 LANDSCAPE FOR LEGACY: Volunteer for Community Cleanups & Historic Preservation 🌿

    Looking for a meaningful way to give back? Join Stanly Avengers Inc. and our community partners in restoring and preserving historic spaces like the Old Schoolhouse Campus—also known as The Dust Bowl Grounds—a once-forgotten site of Black education and community resilience in Kingville.

    In preparation for its proposed preservation and landmark status, we’re inviting you to be part of our next major project: a community-wide landscaping and cleanup event!


    🗓️ CHOOSE YOUR DAY TO SERVE:
    ✅ Thursday, May 29 – Pre-Cleanup with Ali & Friends
    ✅ Saturday, May 31 – Official Community Cleanup

    📍 Location for Both Days:
    1075 Lundix Street, Albemarle, NC
    (formerly known as the Old Schoolhouse Campus)


    🌟 HOW YOU CAN HELP:
    Sign up for one (or both) cleanup days
    Help landscape and beautify a site of historical significance
    Show community pride through action and service
    Support preservation efforts currently under state review

    🧹 CLEANUP SCHEDULE:
    🕘 9:00 AM – 9:15 AM

    Check in at The Dust Bowl
    Grab supplies, water, and light refreshments
    Open with a welcome and group prayer
    🕤 9:15 AM – 11:00 AM

    Begin landscaping and cleanup in teams or solo
    Work on assigned areas—every hand counts!

    Professional landscapers: Please manage your tools
    All other volunteers: Return borrowed supplies

    This campaign is separate from the Old Schoolhouse Campus Cleanup, but just as impactful. Our Adopt-A-Street Program is about honoring those who paved the way—by keeping their streets clean, beautiful, and full of pride.

    The Kingville Project is looking for volunteers to help research and preserve the our rich history similar tonthe Kingville/South Albemarle Community through our Historical Markers Initiative. If you’re passionate about history, this is your chance to contribute!

    Create the Future | Saturday, June 28, 2025 | 2–5 PM
    📍 Stanly Community College – 141 College Dr., Albemarle, NC

    This is more than a workshop. It’s a movement.
    A launchpad for imagination, innovation, and inspiration.


    🚀 WHAT TO EXPECT:
    Middle & high school students will get a hands-on introduction to the world of STEM, skilled trades, and creative arts. From digital media to robotics, coding to carpentry, and graphic design to theater production—this event brings together career pathways and cultural pride in one unforgettable experience.

    🎯 TWO EXPERIENCES. ONE MISSION.
    This summer initiative offers two unique ways to engage:

    One pathway is all about student sign-ups—inviting middle and high school students to explore hands-on experiences in STEM, trades, and the arts through fun, interactive workshops.


    The other is a community-powered call to action—welcoming sponsors, donors, and volunteers to fuel student participation and support a dynamic school-based competition and showcase, featuring teams from Albemarle, North Stanly, West Stanly, South Stanly, and countywide “Wild Cards.”
    Whether you're a student ready to build your future, or a community member ready to make an impact—this movement is for you.

    This event is part of The Kingville Project 2025, a youth empowerment initiative by Stanly Avengers, Inc. to:

    Time Commitment: Approximately 2-4 hours per month, including board meetings and organizational activities.


    Attendance: Regular participation in monthly board meetings and planning sessions.
