This variety was introduced to North America in the 1890s. One stalk alone can bear up to 100 dark-green florets. Compact plants produce sturdy spikes with edible florets that mature from the bottom up becoming even sweeter after a light frost. 4 inch pot.

The small, 1cm (1/2") fruits begin to set early, turning from bright green to jet black. These hold on the plant, even if they appear early in the season.
