Commitment & Committees
You have the option to serve on subcommittees. This is not mandatory for participation/membership in the Midtown Alley Business Association (MABA).

HOW COMMITTEES & BOARDS WORK:
- Committees within MABA are driven by the Leadership Board and will carry out the Leadership Board's priorities.
- Each committee will have one Chairperson, as determined by the Leadership Board. Leadership Board Members serve a 1 year term from May to May of each year.
- The Leadership Board is comprised of business owners and property owners only.
- Businesses may designate ONE employee/representative to participate on one committee of their choosing.
- Committee members will be expected to actively attend meetings and to have active involvement in carrying out committee objectives — and to do so in a timely manner.

Which ONE committee do you wish to serve on, if any? Note: All Serving will require you to set meetings, attend meetings and do work to carry forward the objectives of the committee. You may only choose one committee for 2024-2025.

𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: This committee will work closely with the Leadership Board to actively plan, carry out logistics, and promote safety, security and beautification priorities. These priorities may include neighborhood-wide lighting, tree lighting, street/sidewalk repairs, trash pickup and cleaning, planting and maintaining plants, designing and painting murals, painting crosswalks or fireplugs.𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: This committee will work closely with the Leadership Board to actively plan, carry out logistics, and promote the soon-to-be-updated website and social media channels. They will create content, flyers and press releases. They will defer to the Leadership Board for direction. The Chair of this committee will be chosen by the Leadership Board and will give approval on messages and content before it is posted.
Are you interested in potentially serving as the Chair for a committee? Responsibilities include: (a) Scheduling and leading any committee meetings. (b) Being responsible for ensuring the Leadership Board's priorities and directions are moved forward. (c) Being the single point of contact for your committee to the Leadership Board. (d) Reporting updates back to the Leadership Board. Chairs will be selected by the board.*

Which level does your organization feel comfortable committing to? This monthly/yearly commitment helps us move forward all general initiatives. Below are recommended levels.

Note: There may be additional targeted fundraisers to which you can contribute in the future, should you desire. There will also be opportunities for sweat equity and in-kind contributions as the Business Association moves forward.
