Grant awards less than $50,000 will require a 5-year preservation agreement (not recorded with the deed) and awards over $50,000 require a 10-year preservation covenant/easement (recorded with the deed). If the property is currently protected by a perpetual or other preservation covenant/easement that meet or exceeds the requirements of this grant program as determined by the NPS, no additional duration or restrictions are necessary.
