Award Criteria

The DAYL Foundation Fellows Award of Excellence is awarded to a Fellow who has made a positive impact on the Dallas community outside of his or her work in the legal profession. The recipient will exemplify the charitable image of attorneys, which the DAYL Foundation desires to recognize and promote.

The Awards Committee will consider all outstanding qualities of a nominee, including: (a) the individual's impact and dedication to the community and the profession; (b) quantity and quality of participation in community and professional activities; and (c) leadership qualities that have benefitted the community.

To be considered for this award, the individual must: (a) not currently serve on the Board of the DAYL or the DAYL Foundation; (b) not have been President of the DAYL within the last 4 years; (c) have not previously received the award; and (d) be a current Fellow of the DAYL Foundation in good standing.

A current list of DAYL Foundation Fellows is located here. The application deadline is 5:00pm, Thursday, November 7, 2024.

The Award of Excellence will be presented at the DAYL Foundation Fellows Luncheon to be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

This form must be completed in its entirety with a concise, but thorough, description of the nominee's qualifications. A nominee may only be nominated by one person. Anyone else wishing to co-nominate should submit a letter of recommendation to be included with the packet. Please do not submit letters of recommendation separately.

Additional information may be submitted using the upload link below. Please limit the additional materials to 15 total pages. External recommendation letters that provide specific details of how the nominee meets the award criteria are highly recommended.

Leadership Qualities that Benefit the Community: Describe the nominee's leadership qualities that have benefited the community. *

Other Relevant Information: Additional information and supporting materials, such as letters of support, curriculum vitae or resume are encouraged. There is a limit of 15 pages for supporting documents. Please attach all documents, along with a cover letter with the nominator's contact information, as a single PDF document and submit it using the upload link below. The file name should be the name of the nominee.
