The Lower Hudson Council of School Personnel Administrators (LHCSPA) is committed to promoting excellence in the field of education. To support this goal, LHCSPA is sponsoring the annual Outstanding Educator Essay Contest, which has been established in memory of the fine educators who have made a difference in the lives of the students they serve.
The winning student author will receive a $1,000 scholarship award and a certificate and the Outstanding Educator will receive a $500 gift card and a certificate. The winner will present his/her essay and be recognized at an end of the year LHCSPA meeting.
Essay submissions must be 500-700 words and must explain why a teacher or educator of your choice deserves to be recognized as an Outstanding Educator. In reviewing each essay, the LHCSPA Review Committee seeks evidence of exactly what makes the educator outstanding. Students may write about the educator’s commitment, motivation, inspiration or innovative approaches used to foster student success.
Essays must be submitted by May 26, 2023
