Tennis Award Nominations: Eastern Pa

Thank you for submitting a nomination for the 2024 Eastern Pennsylvania District Awards! With questions or other needs, email communications@ms.usta.com.

Feel free to nominate people for multiple categories. That being said, each nomination will need to be submitted separately.

 

We are also considering no more than two individuals for our EPD Hall of Fame. This is a lifetime achievement recognition, with the purpose of highlighting and honoring individuals who have made a significant impact on tennis in EPD over a long period of time. If you are interested in nominating someone for the EPD Hall of Fame, please email communications@ms.usta.com with the individual's name, and any supporting information you'd like to include.

 

Past EPD Hall of Fame inductees: Dawn Ketterman-Benner, Mervin Heller, Neil Curtis, Joe McNulty, Pat Shields, Loretta DeWalt, Art Smith, Laura Canfield, Sally M. Evans.

 

The deadline to submit your nomination is August 8, 2025. 

Award Category Descriptions

 

NJTL of the Year | Recognizes a National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) Chapter that offers a wide range of tennis and education opportunities for local youth.

Family of the Year | Recognizes an outstanding family that has positively impacted tennis in and around EPD.

High School Coach of the Year | Recognizes a high school coach who promotes and develops outstanding sportsmanship, teamwork and success at the high school level.

College Coach of the Year | Recognizes a college coach who promotes and develops outstanding sportsmanship, teamwork and success at the collegiate level.

Commercial Organization | Recognizes a facility or other commercial organization that provides a high level of customer service to its customers, while working to provide tennis opportunities to a diverse and wide range of individuals. 

Sportsmanship Award | Recognizes a tennis player, captain or coach who demonstrates a high level of sportsmanship throughout the year.

Teaching Professional | Recognizes an active tennis instructor who demonstrates a constant dedication to teaching tennis in his or her community, sharing tennis as a lifetime sport and promoting the USTA mission. 

Adult Volunteer and Junior Volunteer | Recognizes an individual who has made valuable contributions to local tennis through volunteer efforts.

Service Award | Recognizes an individual or a group that has served the EPD community in a special way.

Courage Award | Recognizes an individual who has displayed hard work, dedication and courage in overcoming an obstacle or a difficult situation.

President's Award | Honors an individual who has provided a high level of service to the EPD community during the most recent Council Chair's term.
