IECHO - Mid South Liver Alliance Chronic Liver Disease MASLD/MASH Cases
  • The submission of cases for presentation and discussion or consultation is a key component in the Project ECHO model and critically important for knowledge building and sharing. We welcome cases that involve common clinical scenarios related to diagnosis and care as well as difficult, complex, or challenging presentations and patient management scenarios.

Our February 9 discussion with Dr. Roman Perri, Transplant Hepatologist from Vanderbilt University Liver Transplant program with be a general discussion on MASLD/MASH in the mid south region.  We know that the GI, PCP, NP and APP that work with patients in the Rural areas my not feel they have the updated information on what to do with patients in their area.    If liver disease is diagnosed and addressed early, its conseuences can be mitigated and patient outcomes significantly improvie.  In our midsouth region , it is estimated that over 9 million people may have MASLD and 25% of those will require specialist attention if they develop fibrosis or cirrhosis of the liver due to MASH. In the midsouth region we have over 10 transplant centers with hepatologist that are working with the Mid South Liver Alliance to bring more up-to-date education to those working with patients in our rural areas.   YOU are a part of the solution by helping to provide us with questions and  liver cases that have been difficult to deal within your area.   We need you to share information on those cases with us
