    Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Paws in the Park. Our volunteers are an important and vital part of this event!

    When: Sunday, April 30, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Where: Bohrer Park at Summit Hill Farm, 506 South Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg. MD Attire:Current MCHS volunteers should wear their blue shirt; all other volunteers should plan to wear a white t-shirt. All volunteers must wear long pants and comfortable shoes! You must be at least 15 years old to volunteer for this event. General assignments and more information for volunteers will be provided the week of the event. Signed forms for those needing SSL hours will be available at the end of your shift.

    The event is held rain or shine. The majority of volunteers will be needed between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Note that some shifts overlap to ease transition.

    Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early, so you may find parking, sign in, and arrive at assigned area by the time your shift begins. Upon arrival, all volunteers should check in at the volunteer check in. Volunteer assignments will be emailed the week of the event.

    Your family & friends may not enter the park unless they register and pay the entry fee.

    We will not take walk-up volunteers.

    DUTIES AVAILABLE: We are looking for people-oriented volunteers, comfortable around dogs

    Volunteer assignments will be emailed the week of the event. Parking: Direct guests to appropriate parking areas. Trail: Assist staff with setting up the trail and monitoring the walk portion of the event. Security: Check wristbands, make sure guests entering have paid and have appropriate leash. Runners and "Arrows": Direct guests to activities, trail, etc. Activities: Assist staff with contests and activities including Demos, Best Dressed Dog. Owner/Pet Look-a-Like, Best Trick, Best Stay, Children's Activities, Agility Course, and more. Note: Must be able to clearly communicate information and closely monitor the activity for safety purposes.

    Clean-up: Help clean up the event.
