Merchant Initiated Transaction (recurring) (Transaction): As an example of this type transaction, could be an affiliation (like a Gym), where the merchant host take the cardholder information to create the recurring payments on the system.
Pre-Authorization: Reserves funds on a customer's credit card. Authorize only does not charge the card until you perform a completion of the transaction (Ticket Only) and/or confirm shipment of the order. This kind of transaction could be used frequently as an online purchase, for example, in the Hotels or Car Rental industry where the ‘transaction’ only reserves or places a hold on client’s account. The funds/holds are released after the period ends (shipping confirmation, Hotel stay, or rental is completed).

Scheduling Recurring Transaction (Transaction): As an example of this type of transaction, could be a streaming service (like Netflix), where the cardholder by his own write down the data and ‘subscribe’ for a month recurring payment.
Tokenization: Tokenization of data safeguards credit card numbers and bank account numbers in a virtual vault, so organizations can transmit data via wireless networks safely. For tokenization to be effective, organizations must use a payment gateway to safely store sensitive data.
Void Transaction: A void transaction is a transaction that is canceled before it settles through a consumer's debit or credit card account. When a transaction is voided, it shows up as a pending transaction on the customer's account for a short period of time, while the process is being completed.
