Nominations
NAHP has established the Hall of Papermaking Champions to honor individuals or couples whose contributions during their careers have significantly inspired or changed the course of the papermaking field. Paper artists, traditional papermakers, paper historians, toolmakers, scientists, conservators, and others are all eligible for nomination.
Instructions
Nominations are accepted by the NAHP Hall of Papermaking Champions Committee beginning April 15th in any given year and may be submitted online at any time up until 12 pm EST on July 15th. Nominators may compose their nomination text using whatever software they prefer, and pasted into the form. (Note that non-standard URLs may cause errors on the form.) To nominate someone, fill out this form online and click SUBMIT. (Nominations via postal mail or email will not be accepted.) Nominators are urged to consult the list of current Champions with essays to get a sense of the individuals who have previously been honored for significantly impacting or changing the papermaking field.

Please note that starting in 2023, in an effort to incorporate member input during the nomination process, all nominations will be shared with the membership July 18th through July 31st. During that time, member input on any or all nominees will be welcomed using a procedure to be announced on July 18th.
Requirements
1. You do not have to be a member of NAHP to nominate someone.
2. A nominee need not be a current member of the NAHP as long as their contribution to the field has been significant.
3. Current Hall of Papermaking Champions committee members may not submit nominations however, members of the Board may do so.
4. Current committee members or members of the Board may not be nominated for the Hall of Papermaking Champions. If nominated, they will be removed from the pool of candidates under consideration.
5. Self-nominations are not allowed.
6. Multiple nominations for the same individual(s) from different nominators are acceptable.
7. Multiple nominations for different individuals by the same nominator are acceptable.
8. Nominations from previous years are not automatically reconsidered, however nominators may re-submit a nomination. We encourage nominators to revise or update previous submissions.
9. Nominations of papermakers who are no longer alive are acceptable.
Procedure
In the interest of transparency and to solicit input from members, the Champions committee will share all nominations with members online on July 18th and solicit member input from July 18th until July 31st. Note the following dates:
Nomination deadline: July 15
Nominations sent to members: July 18
Membership input deadline: July 31
Finalist Champion nominees notified: about August 20
Membership approval of new Champions at annual business meeting: between October 17-19.
