Design and composition are key to the success of any great work of art. By eliminating the complexities of color, we are freed up to be more intentional with our drawing and placement of information, and to focus on dynamic and effective designs. Other topics will also be covered such as the hierarchy of interest, directing the viewers eye, variety and unity, as well as good old fashioned value study.
This class will begin with a demonstration and overview, followed by practicing the concepts with individual critiques. Brock will be demonstrating in oil, and will be providing premixed values for oil painters participating. However, as these concepts apply universally all mediums are welcome (as well as all experience levels).
