  • Hello & thank you for your interest in spending the summer with us! We are are homegrown museum that explores the meaning and significance of ordinary objects. You can learn more about us on our website: https://museumofeverydaylife.org/

This is an application for our Summer Youth Docent Program, a PAID arts program June 23rd- July 18th, 2025, for teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17. The first week of the summer program consists of an intensive training which familiarizes you with the museum and prepares you to be a museum tour guide. Subsequently, each of you will work 4 - 6 hours per week as a docent in the museum, greeting visitors and giving tours, accompanied by a museum staff mentor who will offer support and guidance. You will also work on small curatorial projects of your own, which you will share with the other docents and with the public at the end of the program. Applicants should be curious about the prospect of exploring what it means to work in a museum, and excited about everyday objects. No other experience is required! The program is open to all youth, including those with divergent needs and physical ability. This program is offering a stipend of $450, which will be given to participants upon completion of the program. Participants must be available for the training days June 23rd-28th, and then at least one day a week for the subsequent 3 weeks. All participants should participate in the closing day celebration of the program Friday July 18th.
