The MLT Program at the Utah State University Blanding (USUB) and USU Eastern, is four semesters (60 weeks) + one semester of pre-requisites, or 71 credits. To be accepted into/continue in the program, the student must have the following completed:
- Applied for admittance and been accepted into USU
- The required pre-requisites courses
- Submitted a completed application to the Medical Lab Technician Program.
- A background check and drug screen (negative) through CastleBranch Records Management Company, (portal.castlebranch.com/ut61 This will be completed upon acceptance into the program. The cost of performing this is approximately $91.00.
- BLS certification will be provided during the first semester of study
- Blanding students pay the USU Blanding Cashier $25.00 for a drug screen and purchase only a background check through CastleBranch. Moab students work with usu Moab to obtain a drug screen through Elwood Staffing. They also only order background check through CastleBranch. Price students pay for background check and drug screen through CastleBranch and see Henock Haile, MLT Instructor, for their paperwork.

Program tuition, including registration fees/books for Medical Laboratory Technician Program is ______ Lab coats (disposable) and closed-toe shoes will be required and the cost is the responsibility
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program runs consecutively every fall and spring semesters, with new cohorts beginning in the fall. Graduation is once a year in April. Once the student has successfully completed all course requirements, they will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technician, and will be eligible to take the national certifying examination. In addition, the student MUST apply for and pay for graduation through Utah State University by the stated deadline.
The student has the option to attend this course in a blended format. The following courses are available for delivery via IVC to outreach learning centers:
