The Pharmacy Tech (PhT) program at Utah State University, is two semesters (32 weeks) plus 240 hours of supervised practicum experience and lab experience of 90 hours. To be accepted into the program, the student must have the following:
- Applied for and have been accepted to Utah State University
- Completed the required pre-requisites
- Submitted a program application to the PhT Program (Teryn Lyman, Health Professions Coordinator or filled out online application)
- Completed a background check and drug screen.
- Completed required immunizations or titers
- GPA of 3.0 or higher

- State of UT criminal history - $15.00
- PTCB exam $129.00
- DOPL license fee $100.00
Program tuition including registration fees for the PhT program is approximately $2392.50 the cost of books. Closed-toe shoes will be required and the cost is the responsibility of the student.
The PhT Program runs consecutively every spring and fall semester. Formal graduation is once a year in April. A certificate of completion will be offered upon successful completion of the program and the student completing the national certifying examination through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB
The student may walk with the graduating class in April, but if clinical rotations are not complete and national testing has not been completed, the student will not receive a certificate of completion until this requirement is met. Also, the student MUST apply for and pay for graduation by the stated deadline in the semester they will complete their courses.
