    Thank you for your interest in participating in one of Rise's Entrepreneurship Training Programs, we're excited to meet you! We offer several training programs ranging from 8 to 10 weeks. All of our programs are offered online in virtual classrooms.

     

    All of our programs offer the following benefits:

    • Business development: Gain the skills and confidence to develop your idea and launch your business.
    • Networking and coaching: Network with like-minded individuals and build connections with local entrepreneurs and experienced business professionals.
    • Financing: Once you graduate, you may be eligible for a start-up grant or to apply for low-interest small business loan from Rise.
    • Mental health considerations: Factor in your wellness and build a mental health plan in your business development.
       

    Candidates Qualifications

    Applicants for our programs should have all the following characteristics:

    • Have a practical idea to start or grow your own for-profit, small business (any size, either full or part time/seasonal opportunities are welcome), and be looking to start this within the next 6 months.
    • Commit to attend all course sessions and submit all assignments.
    • Self-identify as having experienced mental health or addictions challenges.
    • Be over the the age of 16.
    • Have access to a computer (smartphones and tablets are not recommended) and reliable internet to attend classes and complete course work.
    • Spaces are limited so apply now!

  • Rise Youth Small Business Program In-Person Application Form

    Thank you for your interest in participating in an in-person cohort of Rise's Youth Small Business Program (YSBP), we're excited to meet you! 

    This fall, we will be delivering cohorts in-person in:

    • Toronto, ON: September 9 to November 25, 2024 at Central YMCA (20 Grosvenor Street)
    • Vancouver, BC: October 8 to December 12, 2024 at BCIT Downtown Campus (555 Seymour Street)

  • Thank you for your interest in our Training Programs. Our mission is to support entrepreneurs who self-identify or have been diagnosed with a mental health or addictions challenge. As you do not fall under this category, we cannot accept your application. Here are a few resources that may be of use to you:

    • Futupreneur (for folks aged 18 - 39) offers training, mentoring and small loans. Search keywords: Futurpreneur Canada
    • Your local small business development centre offers different types of programs and services. Find yours on their site, search keywords: Locate BDC's business centres across Canada
    • Ivey Business School at Western University offers a free 8 session course. Search keywords: The Founder's Journey Western University

    Build relationships, facilitate networking opportunities and match entrepreneurs like you with mentors;
    Assist with administrative or technical support of your participation in the program;
    Gather your opinion and feedback through surveys;
    Comply with Canadian legal and regulatory requirements;
    Maintain statistical and record keeping operations.
     

    Your personal information may be collected, used or disclosed for any of the identified proposes set out above. We will not use or disclose it for other purposes without obtaining additional consent from you. Please note that your consent is necessary for us to process your application and for administrative purposes if you are accepted. You may withdraw your consent at any time upon reasonable written notice, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. Please note that the withdrawal of consent will affect our ability to provide you with the products and services that you would like to receive.

    To achieve the identified purposes listed above, your personal information may be shared with third parties such as government or industry agencies, mentors and advisors to your business. Sometimes you may be working with a referral agency to help you prepare your business plan and start up your business. In this case, your personal information may be shared with this third party, based on your consent.

    From time to time Rise Asset Development may wish to send you emails as part of the administration during your program or provide advice to your business. We also send out group e-mails providing information such as program updates, event information or other information of interest to our clients.
