The Washington State School Retirees' Association (WSSRA) invites prospective teachers and other educators in their final year of college preparation to apply for the Neil D. Prescott Scholarship. This one-time scholarship is awarded to students who will be student teaching or conducting an internship during the 2025-2026 academic year. Sixteen scholarships ($2,500 awards to be distributed across the eight WSSRA regions) will be awarded.
In addition, in each of WSSRA's eight regions, local WSSRA units may award additional scholarships.
Applicants Must:

2025-26 student teachers are encouraged to apply.
In addition, those planning to complete an internship as a counselor, physical or occupational therapist, social worker, or school psychologist and who are not currently employed in K12 schools, may apply in 2025-26.
Exception: A paraprofessional who is enrolled in a teacher preparation program, who plans to student teach in 2025-26, and who is employed full time as a paraprofessional during the 2024-25 school year is eligible to apply.
