Program Overview: 

Eligibility: Open to any middle schooler who is currently participating on their school track and field team

2023 Program: Now through June 3, with option to also participate in AAU Junior Olympic Qualifiers in June/July.

Locations:

Meet locations vary and are generally held at high schools in South Jersey. AAU qualifiers are held at Millersville University in Pennsylvania. 

Fee: $55 

Competition/Meets:

Meets are really fun, and we encourage the kids to participate in as many as possible, while trying different events. Please note that track meets are long - on average a meet will last 3-4 hours, but you can arrive late or leave early, depending the on the events your child wishes to do. 

Families are responsible for their own transportation to all meets. Meets tend to get scheduled in early spring, but in general we will attend meets on a few Saturday mornings and possibly on a weekday evening. The majority of our meets are in South Jersey (Medford is the furthest), and we may also have a meet or two in the Philadelphia suburbs. 

Our Approach and Philosophy:

The goal of the spring season is to have fun learning about and practicing multiple events, while learning to compete in the fun meets we attend. The focus is on healthy, natural physical development. Based on the American Development Model, we are committed to a modern, science-based approach to supporting kids in the development of life-long health and well-being. and we do not promote or support heavy, specialized training for high level competition. For our more motivated club members, we will prepare for the USATF and/or AAU Junior Olympic competitions, but we ask parents to be mindful that the United States Olympic Committee and USA Track and Field believe that kids should only be participating in the Junior Olympics when they are personally motivated to do so, with fun, and simply enjoying the experience of learning to compete as priorities.

We will add your child to our TeamSnap roster before the start of the program, and at that time you will receive an invitation to view or create your account.

Emergency Information

Informed Consent and Acknowledgement

I hereby give my approval for my child’s participation in any and all activities prepared by South Jersey Track & Field Club during the selected camp. In exchange for the acceptance of said child’s candidacy by South Jersey Track & Field Club., I assume all risk and hazards incidental to the conduct of the activities, and release, absolve and hold harmless South Jersey Track & Field Club. and all its respective officers, agents, and representatives from any and all liability for injuries to said child arising out of traveling to, participating in, or returning from selected camp sessions.

In case of injury to said child, I hereby waive all claims against South Jersey Track & Field Club. including all coaches and affiliates, all participants, sponsoring agencies, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event. There is a risk of being injured that is inherent in all sports activities, including basketball. Some of these injuries include, but are not limited to, the risk of fractures, paralysis, or death.

Medical Release and Authorization

As Parent and/or Guardian of the named athlete, I hereby authorize the diagnosis and treatment by a qualified and licensed medical professional, of the minor child, in the event of a medical emergency, which in the opinion of the attending medical professional, requires immediate attention to prevent further endangerment of the minor’s life, physical disfigurement, physical impairment, or other undue pain, suffering or discomfort, if delayed.

Permission is hereby granted to the attending physician to proceed with any medical or minor surgical treatment, x-ray examination and immunizations for the named athlete. In the event of an emergency arising out of serious illness, the need for major surgery, or significant accidental injury, I understand that every attempt will be made by the attending physician to contact me in the most expeditious way possible. This authorization is granted only after a reasonable effort has been made to reach me.

Permission is also granted to the South Jersey Track & Field Club. and its affiliates including Directors, Coaches, and Team Parents to provide the needed emergency treatment prior to the child’s admission to the medical facility.

Release authorized on the dates and/or duration of the registered season. For personal coaching the release is ongoing as long as services are provided.

This release is authorized and executed of my own free will, with the sole purpose of authorizing medical treatment under emergency circumstances, for the protection of life and limb of the named minor child, in my absence.

Medical Release and Authorization Confirmation

BY ACKNOWLEDGING AND SIGNING BELOW, I AM DELIVERING AN ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE THAT WILL HAVE THE SAME EFFECT AS AN ORIGINAL MANUAL PAPER SIGNATURE. THE ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE WILL BE EQUALLY AS BINDING AS AN ORIGINAL MANUAL PAPER SIGNATURE.

Photo and Video Permission to Share

SOMETIMES WE CAPTURE GREAT MOMENTS OF THE KIDS PRACTICING, COMPETING, AND JUST HAVING A GREAT TIME TOGETHER, AND WE LOVE SHARING THESE PHOTOS VIA OUR SOCIAL NETWORKING PAGES, CLUB EMAILS, CLUB WEBSITE, ETC. IF YOU EVER SEE A PHOTO POSTED THAT INCLUDES YOUR CHILD AND YOU WOULD PREFER THAT IT BE REMOVED FROM ANY OF THE ABOVE LOCATIONS SIMPLY LET US KNOW. 

Refunds

IN GENERAL, PROGRAM FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. WE PLAN ALL OF OUR PROGRAMS AROUND THE TOTAL NUMBER OF CHILDREN REGISTERED, SO IT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO PROVIDE REFUNDS, BUT WE WILL MAKE EXCEPTIONS TO THE POLICY WHEN POSSIBLE. IF AN ENTIRE PROGRAM IS CANCELED WE WILL REFUND THE PROGRAM FEE, MINUS THE BANK SERVICE CHARGE, AND ANY COSTS INCURRED BY THE CLUB (I.E. ACCESS FEES THAT HAVE BEEN PAID AND NOT REFUNDED).
