Futures & Next Gen Tour 2023

To enter the 2023 Futures & NextGen events, players must be one or more of the following:

- An active member of a golf club in Derbyshire

- Live in Derbyshire

- Have been born in Derbyshire

The Futures and NextGen Tour events are open to all junior golfers under the age of 14 (on 01.01.23).

This year there will be 8 events from June - September. 7 of these events make up the Order of Merit (best 4 scores to count) with the final being a fun team competition.

The Futures Tour was created to provide boys and girls the opportunity to advance their golf skills and knowledge of the game through age appropriate 9-hole competition at a local level. Our mission is to help children have fun and make friends through learning the game of golf at an early age. All players without a WHS handicap index or with a handicap index over 40 will play in the Futures Tour stroke play events in age based groups, from shortened tees. We include some unique 'Futures Tour rules' which makes the format a little quicker and more enjoyable for everyone!

The 'Next Gen' Tour is for players with a WHS handicap index of 40 or below. This is a step up from 'Futures', supporting players' progression to 9 hole qualifying stableford events. Prizes will be awarded for Nett results only. It is the aim of the NextGen Tour to introduce Juniors to more formal golf where they will mark their own scorecards and be more independent on the golf course.

We also run a non-competitive New2Golf category for beginners (U14) who are not yet wanting to be part of the main competitions. This is ideal for those young players who have only recently started playing and want to 'have a go' in a more relaxed way (scores will not be shared, no medals to be won, can later move up to a competitive age group category).

Please note that caddies are only allowed for players in the New2Golf category, and the U10/U9/U8 categories. Under 11 and older, as well as the NextGen - caddies are NOT allowed.

The cost to enter is £9 per event (£7 per event for New2Golf players). The full entry fee must be received before participation in the first event.
