One of the most often asked Apologetics questions is, “How can we explain the existence of evil in the world?” This question comes in many forms. “Why Evil?” “Why do bad things happen?” “Why is there evil in the world if God is good?” “Why does the kingdom of the world grow along side of the kingdom of God?”). In this class we will seek to answer these questions by understanding the nature of evil as it is seen up against the backdrop of the nature of God.

To know how to increase our faith, we first need to know what the thing we are increasing is not, so we can better know what it is. Jesus most direct answer to the question, “How do I increase my faith?” comes from a request from His disciples to increase their faith so they could move a mountain. How can you have “mountain moving faith”? The answer might surprise you, both in terms of what the mountain is that is going to be moved, and what you need to do to have faith to move it.

The Bible tells us of a spiritual war between good and evil that has raged on for thousands of years, both in the spiritual realm and also playing out in our world today. We are engaged in this spiritual war whether we realize it or not, and the Bible gives us as believers all that we need to know to defend ourselves against the attacks of the enemy and to work to tear down the strongholds of Satan and thwart the work of darkness in our world. This class will use the character Elijah as an example of how men and women of God can stand effectively in this type of spiritual warfare and give practical examples of how we can have spiritual victory in our own lives and help others as well.

The importance of the resurrection with respect to the validity of Christianity cannot be overstated. Is our belief in the resurrection of Jesus something that simply comes from our learning about it in Church and celebrating it on Easter, or is it an event that has proofs that we can hold on to? This course will offer both logical (apologetic) and spiritual evidence that can firm up your belief in the resurrection.

This class is an introduction to inductive bible study that explains what it is and how to do it. Using the process that moves from observing the Scripture, to its interpretation, and then to its application, students will understand the importance of studying the Bible inductively and the rewards that kind of study brings to their understanding of God and their walk with Him.

This class will develop a fuller faith in the Christian by comparing other religions to Christianity – especially with respect to the idea and method of salvation – as that process reveals the uniqueness of the Christian understanding of God, man, and God’s solution for man’s problem. The student will be challenged and motivated to investigate other religions in order to better understand where people are coming from so as to better be equipped to take them somewhere else.

This class will offer both internal and external evidence of the authenticity of the Bible. It will also survey the history of “the canon” and how it came into being. We will consider basic definitions and descriptions of the tenets of bibliology – to include the doctrines of the inerrancy, infallibility, and sufficiency of Scripture – in route to challenging the student toward a “high view” of the Bible.

This class is designed to answer those difficult questions that present themselves to Christians who desire to obey God in the more “subtle” areas of obedience. What can I do? What can’t I do? Can I drink coffee? How about wine? What kind of movies can I watch? Can I eat meat sacrificed to idols? How do I avoid becoming a “Pharisee” while at the same time not slip into the cesspool of “antinomianism”? In the end, students will be challenged to check their hearts in all things and hone a desire to say “no” to worldliness.

This class does not pretend to fully explain the paradox that is the Trinity. It does seek to offer ways in which to describe and understand the Trinity including its clear expression in the Scripture and its resulting applications with respect to the nature of God and His nature’s impact upon His creation. Specifically, we will see God more clearly as a unity in diversity and a singular plurality.
