    • Freshman Seminar
    • The Core Curriculum consists of courses in a broad range of disciplines—literature, languages, art, music, history, philosophy, religion, mathematics, and natural and social sciences. These courses are a required part of every major and you will be placed in courses where available/that match your major. An option for first-year students is to take a Freshmen Seminar (read the course descriptions here) to replace one of your CORES—if interested, you may select your preference below. If you are not interested in any of these options, please select N/A.

    • Modern Languages and Literatures
    • Every student must complete two semesters of one foreign language. These questions will help us determine your correct placement level. Faculty from the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures may reach out to you personally should they need more information to best place you in the correct language course.

*Please see the note in the Transfer/College Credits section in regard to AP, IB, and college courses.

    • Transfer/College Credits
