  • Riverside County Parks Foundation’s (RCPF) Board of Directors is an exciting and engaged working board. 

    Mission Statement: Riverside County Parks Foundation supports and advocates for the acquisition, protection, development, management, and interpretation of areas of scenic, recreational, and historic importance within Riverside County.

    Board Member Role: As a board member, you play a crucial role in guiding the organization's strategic direction, ensuring its financial health, and upholding its mission. Your involvement is essential to the success of the Riverside County Parks Foundation. 

    Benefits of Board Membership:

    Expectations:

    • Attendance: Attend board meetings regularly, aiming to attend at least 75% of meetings. Meetings are held every other month for 1.5 hours at Crestmore Manor (Jurupa Valley) with Zoom as an option.
    • Preparation: Review meeting materials prior to each meeting and come prepared to discuss agenda items.
    • Participation: Actively participate in board discussions, sharing insights and offering constructive feedback.
    • Financial Support: Contribute a minimum annual donation of $250. Monthly giving options are available.
    • Fundraising: Participate in fundraising efforts, such as events and campaigns.
    • Governance: Adhere to the organization's bylaws, policies, and procedures.
    • Committee or Task Force Work: Consider serving on committees or task forces to contribute to specific areas of the organization's work.
    • Community Engagement: Support the organization's community engagement and become an advocate for the Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District and the Parks Foundation.
    • Conflict of Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts of interest and recuse yourself from relevant discussions and decisions.
    • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

    Time Commitment: While board meetings are scheduled every other month, board members are expected to dedicate additional time for preparation, committee work, and other volunteer activities.

    By fulfilling these expectations, you will be a valuable asset to Riverside County Parks Foundation and help us achieve our mission.
