Legacy Mural Apprentice Application 2023

Artists, are you trying to boost your artist resume and garner more mural experience? This could be an exciting opportunity for you!

This is the application to work as a paid mural apprentice in August & September 2023. A limited number of artists will be chosen to participate. Those selected will be given a artist stipend ($20/hour; maximum participation 20 hours). Apprentices will work alongside a local muralist.

Selected artists will sign a contract to participate. Because space is limited, artists are asked to apply only if they expect to be able to work 10-20 hours on the mural project.

IMPORTANT DATES

May 2023: Applications Launch
June 14, 2023: Applications Close
June 30, 2023: All artists notified about the status of their application
Last two weeks of August 2023: Artist Apprentices work on legacy mural
September 15-22, 2023: Some on-site mural work
September 23, 2023: Celebration at Promenade Park & Mural Dedication

Artist is responsible for arranging any desired insurance coverage for personal or liability purposes. Artist agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the FOR, City of Fort Wayne, Property Owner, lead artist(s), Fort Wayne Downtown Improvement District, Art This Way, their employees and representatives from any and all claims or causes of action of any kind, and any and all costs and expenses, including attorney's fees, arising from the performance of this project. By checking this box, you acknowledge and agree you are participating in the 2023 Clean Drains Program (“Program”) on a voluntary basis and your participation may involve risks inherent to the activities being undertaken in connection with the Program. You acknowledge that you knowingly and willingly accept such risks and that the City of Fort Wayne and Friends of the Rivers, Property Owner, lead artist(s), Fort Wayne Downtown Improvement District and Art This Way shall have no liability related to your participation in the Program whatsoever. Such photographic and documentary materials shall be the property of FOR.Artist is 18 years old or older.Artist is available to work in late August and early September, 2023Artist acknowledges that they may not be selected to work as an apprentice. They will be notified in LATE JUNE 2023 about the status of their application.
