The 42west24 Writers' Residency Grant supports writers of fiction, nonfiction, memoir, poetry, plays/musicals, TV/film scripts, graphic novels, or a hybrid of those.
The residency duration is 3 months and includes access to a no-cost flex desk workspace at 42west24, which is located at 42 West 24th Street, in the heart of New York City's iconic Flatiron District. The space is accessible 24/7. For more info, visit 42west24.com.
The next residency begins October 1 and ends December 31, 2023.
The deadline to apply is August 31, 2023 at 11:59pm EST. There is no fee to apply.
One grantee will be selected and notified by October 15, 2023.
With your application please provide a personal statement, a brief bio, a CV/resume and a writing sample.
Bios should be no more than 100 words.
The personal statement can be up to 500 words and is your opportunity to introduce yourself to us. Let us know who you are and why a coworking space would benefit your career and personal development at this time. What would you hope to achieve during three months at 42west24?
Writing sample word count requirements: for fiction, nonfiction or memoir, 3500 words max; for poetry, submit three to five poems; for flash fiction, up to three pieces of 1000 words or less; for TV/film scripts, plays/musicals and graphic novels, up to 10 pages. Your writing sample can be published or unpublished work. If your work falls outside these categories, email before submitting.
The grantee will be required to sign a typical member agreement and consents to have their likeness and bio used in 42west24's promo/marketing materials, including but not limited to press releases and social media announcements.
