All IACP certified trainers (certificants) must renew select certification(s) every two years from the certification date. A requirement for certification renewal is acquiring Continuing Education Units (CEUs). For complete information about Continuing Education Units, please read the Continuing Education Unit Program Policy.
IACP recognizes the canine profession is continually evolving with new and different opportunities for continued education available to its members. For this reason we have created several general categories of education events that would meet the CEU requirements.
- Conferences where education is the primary focus of the conference. IACP NADOI and APDT are the three currently recognized although others may be added from time to time.
- Traditional events are structured training opportunities such as seminars and workshops.
- Alternative Eligible CEU Activities can include developing training presentations, writing articles, presenting at conference, etc.
This form can be used to renew your CDT, CDTA, PDTI, and CSDT. Only one payment/CEU submission is required for all certifications that you hold. All questions can be submitted to certification@iacpdogs.org.
CDTs issued prior to September 1, 2020 require no CEUs. CDTs issued after September 1, 2020 require 10 CEU’s. All other certifictions require 20 Continuing Education Credits to renew your certification. Certifications are renewed every two (2) years.
