Conditions of Service
1.1 Booking Requirements
TSLIS requires specific date, time, location, and pertinent information regarding the nature and content of the booking before the requested date.
1.2 Interpreter Safety and Assignment Specifications
Interpreters reserve the right to withdraw from an assignment if their safety is compromised or if the assignment does not align with the specifications booked with TSLIS.
1.3 Two Interpreter Requirement
For assignments lasting two hours or more, or those in a lecture/presentation style, two interpreters must be booked unless special circumstances are arranged prior to booking.
Cancellation
2.1 Cancellation Notice
TSLIS requires a 72-hour (3 business days) notice for assignment cancellations. Failure to provide sufficient notice will result in billing for the full amount of the booked service.
Service Provided
3.1 Timeliness
Interpreters will aim to arrive 15 minutes prior to the appointment time unless alternative arrangements have been made with the booking client.
3.2 Confidentiality
All information related to a booked assignment will be kept strictly confidential and will not be published, distributed, or forwarded. Any interpreter who violates confidentiality will be immediately removed from the TSLIS service provider list.
3.3 Impartiality and Non-Consultation
Interpreters will provide service without judgment, bias, or opinion. They will not consult or advise individuals involved unless it is specifically to enhance the interpretation process.
Payment
4.1 Payment Terms
Payment must be made within 30 days of the invoice date unless otherwise negotiated.
4.2 Payment Methods
Payments can be submitted via credit card through your Quickbooks invoice, e-transfer, or by cheque made payable to Toronto Sign Language Interpreter Service.
4.3 Deposit
Any booking that is estimated at more than $5,000 requires a 50% deposit prior to service delivery.
By engaging with TSLIS services, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms of Service in their entirety.
